D-Day 80th Anniversary Commemorations
This week’s Primary assembly was to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. It was led by Mr Green, our assistant headteacher, who has recently published a book which tells the story of Stan Hollis, who fought in many of the key conflicts of WW2 with distinction, being wounded five times, only to shun publicity and state “anyone would have done what I did”. Riversides School is very proud of Mr Greens accomplishment. Primary pupils and staff enjoyed listening to the story in todays assembly.
