World Book Day 2024
This year’s World Book Day has been a blast. The theme of Dr Seuss and Roald Dahl provided plenty of opportunities for people to dress up in interesting outfits, and we weren’t disappointed. The corridors and classrooms were a riot of colourful costumes from both pupils and teachers. Highlights surely include Mr Fenner’s inflatable dinosaur suit, Miss Jones’s very impressive Cat in the Hat, and no less than three Miss Trunchbulls, courtesy of Mrs Schwab, Miss Northcott and Mr Kloda.
World Book Day activities were equally exciting. In the primary corridor, pupils competed to find the most unusual places to read in, including in cupboards, under blankets and behind desks. As well as this, both primary and secondary pupils worked hard to design their own bookmarks and redesign the covers for their favourite books. The winning designs (secondary on the left and primary on the right) earned themselves a delicious slab of Wonka’s Cadbury’s chocolate – yum!
