Race for Life 2025

Riversides School proudly hosted its annual 5K Charity Challenge at Worcester Racecourse, where pupils and staff came together for a day of fitness, fun, and fundraising. The challenge involved running an impressive one and three-quarter laps around the racecourse to complete the 5K distance.

All participants who crossed the finish line were met with cheers and applause, and each was awarded a beautifully engraved medal to celebrate their achievement. The atmosphere was electric, with parents and members of the public lining the course to offer their enthusiastic support throughout the race. We also welcomed the presence of the Mayor of Worcester who said the whole event was inspirational and the school is a credit to the city of Worcester.

This year, our fundraising target was £750, but thanks to the incredible efforts of our school community, we have proudly raised a current total of £1700 and counting! The full amount will be donated to the Cancer Research UK shop on Worcester High Street, supporting vital work in the fight against cancer.

At Riversides, we are passionate about giving back to our community, and this event is a shining example of how we combine physical activity with charitable giving. The cause is especially close to our hearts, and we’re proud to run, raise, and rally together for such an important mission.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and cheered us on — your support made this event truly unforgettable.
