Lyndesay Neales: Careers and Transitions Advisor, for CLPT
I am a fully qualified Level 6 Careers Advisor. I have been employed by Advance Trust and now CLPT since 2005. I have worked in Special Schools across the county for over 20 years and have good knowledge of local and Independent Specialist Provision. I provide impartial careers and transition advice to students and their families and my work Involves meeting young people in school and getting to know their interests, aspirations and support needs. This is done through seeing students 1:1, group work and meeting with parents and carers through review meetings and at other convenient times. I work closely with school staff on careers, further education, employer visits, work experience opportunities and inform staff and students of local services, providers and opportunities suitable for each of the students. I plan Life Beyond School events to inform students of a variety of post school provision and support. I keep Local Authorities informed of student destinations and will contact leavers and their families in the Autumn term to check they are settled in their new placements.
