Bespoke Careers Talk

On Wednesday year 6 and year 10 students had a fantastic opportunity to listen to a bespoke careers talk lead by Massimiliano Di Luca (Max). Max is a professor at the University of Birmingham in the school of Psychology and in the school of Computer Science. Riversides students listened to a little about the career Max has had both past and present (from working with Facebook, being a research scientist to now being a professor at university.) Students learnt how funding works – with some surprises such as dishwasher companies investing. And students listened to the areas Max now works in as his role at university. Our students enjoyed the discussions and videos on VR and AI. And we now have the exciting invitation of going to the lab at the university next year to play with what Max calls “toys”. A fantastic opportunity. Great listening skills. And thank you to Max for visiting Riversides School.
