Year 6 have been thoroughly enjoying their class text, The Egyptian Cinderella by Shirley Climo. Pupils have explored this fascinating retelling of the classic tale, set in Ancient Egypt, making links with their History topic. They have been analysing the characters, themes, and cultural differences within the story, before writing their own thoughtful book reviews. These reviews showcased their ability to summarise, evaluate, and give personal opinions — as well as their growing confidence as readers and writers. What a fantastic way to combine reading, writing, and topic learning!
