Visit to St George’s C of E Church
Riversides Primary pupils and staff received a warm welcome from Rev. Sarah, Heather and their delightful team of volunteers on a recent visit to St George’s C of E Church. The children found out about the meaning of Advent and what the candles represent on the Advent Wreath. They sat in silence thinking about Hope, Love, Peace and Joy as the candles flickered quietly.
Pupils made an Advent Wreath and later collected ‘candles’ as they moved around the church spending time hearing stories from the Bible and discussing the meaning of each candle. What a wonderful start to the Advent season for our pupils.
