Where’s Wally Writing Competition
“I’ve greatly enjoyed reading all the Where’s Wally? competition entries. Some highlights include comic strips, posters, and beautiful handwriting in metallic pens. There was a variety of excellent language techniques used including alliteration, rhyme, sensory description and (vivid) imagery.”
Unfortunately, there could only be one two winners.
The winner for primary is Primary 3, who did their entry as a class. Primary 3’s entry was a multimedia presentation containing a treasure hunt story and imaginative photos of students dressed up and looking for Woof (the dog) with Wally’s help.
The secondary winner is DY in Yr11 for a haunting prose poem written in first person about a Wally who feels lost and is searching for himself, making excellent use of metaphor, alliteration, rhetorical questions and rhyme.
“Thanks to everyone who entered the competition, I was genuinely impressed by the number and quality of the entries.”
Both winners received a £10 book voucher! Happy reading!
