Year 7 – Art – Spring -2
In Spring 2, year 7 were asked the question: Can rubbish be beautiful?
They started by identifying the things that they found beautiful and unsurprisingly, rubbish was not on anyone’s list!
The students were introduced to the term ‘Artivist’ and looked at some work that used recycling including one that made celebrity faces out of their discarded beauty products and ‘Foo Foo the Poodle’ made from old plastic toys.
Students then moved on to look at work by textile artists such as El Anatsui and Guerra de la Paz before designing their own bunting to make from recycled materials.
