Primary 1 – Art – Spring 1
In spring 1, P1 were asked the question: What do we know about trees? This was then explored through sketch, before practicing the skill of printmaking.
Students started by brainstorming everything they knew about trees and recording this in their sketch books. They then used their observational skills and symmetry to complete a leaf drawing.
Students explored and evaluated prints by Japanese artist Utagaaw Hiroshige before having time to experiment printing with different types of tools and materials. They finished the term by designing a tree to etch into Styrofoam and complete a print themselves.
