Remembrance Day at Riversides
Our Primary pupils marked Remembrance Day with a thoughtful and respectful assembly, followed by a two-minute silence accompanied by The Last Post. The assembly was led by Mr Green, who shared the moving story of Harry Patch, one of the last surviving soldiers of the First World War, whom Mr Green had the honour of meeting in 2007. Pupils also watched a short documentary about Harry Patch, helping them to understand the importance of remembrance and the bravery and sacrifices made by so many. It was a meaningful and reflective moment for our school community.
