Year 6 Cinema Trip – Into Film Festival
Year 6 recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to the cinema to watch the film “If” as part of the Into Film Festival. Inspired by the story, pupils created their own imaginary friends on paper and then brought them to life using a range of creative materials, including play-doh and lolly sticks. They took their ideas even further by exploring animation, making their own flip books and using the “2Animate” software on the laptops to develop digital animations. As part of the experience, pupils also discussed the many careers involved in film-making, animation, design, writing and technology, helping them understand the wide range of creative pathways linked to the skills they were using. It was a wonderfully imaginative and inspiring project from start to finish!
