Storm Goretti Brings Fun to KS4
Today, Years 10 and 11 braved the remnants of 2026’s Storm Goretti for a sledging expedition. As our trusty green minibus climbed the hills, the snow deepened, and the boys’ excitement reached levels usually reserved for a Wi-Fi reconnection.
After navigating the car park with the precision of a surgeon, we hit the slopes. We began with “gentle inclines” for the faint of heart, but gravity soon took over. Naturally, the boys ascended higher and higher, discovering the universal law that more altitude equals more “uncontrolled screaming speed.”
The afternoon was a chaotic montage of snowball fights, questionable snow angels, and the birth of several lumpy snowmen. One ambitious soul even attempted to ride his bike through the drifts—a bold move that resulted in more “drift” than “drive.”
After an hour, with fingers turning into icicles and boots doubling as portable foot-baths, we decided to retreat. It was a resounding success filled with genuine laughter. Here’s hoping for another 2026 cold snap soon, so those who missed out can experience the thrill of sliding down a hill on a piece of plastic.
